Wednesday, March 12 - 2014
A V.Ships Brasil crew-managed vessel has been recognised
for its innovative design and efficient operation at a prestigious
awards ceremony in London.
The CSS Olympia, a compact semi-submersible, outshone the
competition to win the 'Support Vessel of the Year' Award at the
Annual Offshore Support Journal Conference held in London on 19
February 2014.
The awards, which were attended by more than 450 guests from key
industry companies all over the world including V.Offshore, were
one of the highlights of the 3 day conference event which focuses
on the Offshore sector.
The award for Support Vessel of the Year, sponsored by DVB Bank,
is awarded to the owner, designer and builder of an offshore
support vessel delivered in the past calendar year which is
considered to have set an industry benchmark through innovative
design and efficient operation.
The CSS Olympia is owned by GranEnergia, was designed by MAC/STX
Marine and built by Fujian Mawei. The vessel will operate in the
Campos Basin and its deployment to this offshore area forms part of
Petrobras' US$5.6bn Campos basin efficiency recovery program.
V.Group is delighted to congratulate the GranEnergia and the CSS
Olympia on their win and we look forward to continuing to work with
the best and brightest vessels and owner/operators within the
Offshore industry.
