V.Ships & CSL ‘Ride to Conquer Cancer’
Tuesday, July 01 - 2014
Today is Canada Day and our colleagues from V.Ships
Canada are pleased to announce that employees from their office
will come together with client Canada Steamship lines (CSL Group)
to take part in a cycle 'Ride to Conquer Cancer'.
The sponsored cycle ride is to raise funds for the Segal Cancer
Centre at the Jewish General Hospital in Montréal.
A team of 20 V.Ships Canada and CSL employees including CSL Group
Owner and Board Member David Martin, CSL President Louis Martel,
V.Ships Canada Managing Director Sandy Herriot, and V.Ships Group
Trainer Phil Bulman will cycle a total distance of 250km through
Quebec's beautiful countryside.
Team V-CSL will cycle from Montréal to Quebec City along the north
bank of the St. Lawrence River during 5th and 6th July wearing
cycling shirts specially designed to incorporate both V.Ships logo
and CSL's signature funnels.
So far Team V-CSL has raised $74,000 of their $100,000 target.
They will join 2,500 other cyclists who plan to raise over
$6,000,000 in total as part of the 'Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer
2014' campaign.
Team V-CSL will make this ride in memory of CSL and V.Ships
employee Fleet Superintendent Alain Larocque who sadly passed away
in July 2013 after a year-long battle with pancreatic cancer.
