Marin Ivanov - deck cadet Marin Ivanov is the one of the latest deck cadets to join the V.Ships family. The 26-year-old from Bulgaria has been with the company since April, sailing on-board the MS Albatros - and is loving life with the world's largest ship management company. He said: "This is my dream and I am living it. I couldn't be happier. "I had been at sea previously, but wanted to work on a passenger ship, and V.Ships gave me the chance through their Cadet Training Programme. "There are plenty of opportunities within the company, with the possibility to quickly progress up the career ladder." Marin thinks the officers on-board are all very helpful, always making time to guide cadets. He added: "It's clear from the start that the company is serious about safety and its responsibility - whether they are carrying passengers or cargo - they respect the wellbeing of what they are carrying. "If there was a young person out there, I'd say to them make sure this is the life for you before starting a career as a cadet. It's hard work - it's not all about travelling the world and visiting exotic places. "But if you feel you're well suited, I'd definitely go for it with V.Ships. It is a good company with very good opportunities, so in my opinion, there's no better place to start your career." Find out more about V.Ships Cadet Training Programme.
