EMPLOYMENT SCAM

Please be aware that there is a worldwide scam using the name V.Ships, V Ships Leisure SAM and/or Silversea. The aim of the scam is to ask you to purchase a visa which does not exist, but will send money directly to their bank account.

There is also a scam using the name V.Ships Cruise Line and the email vshipcareercruise@anaustralian.com.

V.Ships will always require an interview before offering you a position, and will never issue contracts without receiving references and qualifications in advance.

The scammers ask you to apply for a Commonwealth Maritime Security Identification Card (CMSIC) for Australia, or something similar. There is a Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC) which is issued in Australia. Please see the website address for further information. http://www.infrastructure.gov.au/transport/security/maritime/msics/index.aspx. You should never apply for a visa when only provided with a Western Union number / ID.

All Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) email addresses in Australia end with @immi.gov.au while offshore they end with @dfat.gov.au and therefore you may wish to check the email addresses on the correspondence sent to you regarding a visa.

You may wish to conduct an independent internet search for the contact details of the company and contact the company to verify the genuineness of the company. All V.Ships employees email addresses end with either vships.com, vhospitality.net or vgrouplimited.com
