On arrival we were warmly welcomed by the Mission Volunteers and began the afternoon program with a short prayer with the children.  In conjunction with the 'Nutrition month' presently being run by the school, the first program of the day was a costume event  wherein the children dressed up in costumes designed with or made of different kinds of vegetables. Enthusiasm and excitement clearly showed from the smiles on the children's faces while their parents proudly looked on from outside the classroom. The hard work, effort and creativity that had gone in to preparations of these costumes with whatever little they could afford was truly inspiring. While the children entertained us with a colorful dance program, we had to make the difficult decision of choosing the best 4 costumes . The 4 were then awarded token prizes as a sign of appreciation.
